This was a pain in the arse by the way, just so you know! :P I replaced /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-ftp with a script, and moved the binary to gvfsd-ftp.real. Script was just: #/bin/sh G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40
