More generally gvfs-ssh/sftp does not look at, or obey, any of the other
settings in .ssh, for e.g. I use a custom config file in my .ssh folder
so that connecting to certain hosts it will use specific ports and/or
usernames, gvfs ignores these settings completely, and so I have to
manually enter

thank you for your bug report, no need to authentification if the
application is using the fuse mount, not sure when gvfs is used, note
than gedit is not using gvfs yet
