Hi there,
I've been trying to make totem play youtube videos with the youtubeh624 plugin
for some days but no result. Thiis is just to add to the above comments, the
output in terminal was just the same as in the previous post.
** (totem:7342): DEBUG: Init of Python module
** (totem:7342):
I have the same bug, in totem.
Terminal output:
** (totem:6388): DEBUG: Init of Python module
** (totem:6388): DEBUG: Registering Python plugin instance:
YouTube+TotemPythonPlugin
** (totem:6388): DEBUG: Creating object of type YouTube+TotemPythonPlugin
** (totem:6388): DEBUG: Creating Python
Hi,
I suspect that this has to do with the fact that if you launch totem from the
system menu, then it will not honour the proxy settings. When we open a
terminal first and launch totem from that then YouTube plugin works.
This is also happening with googleearth

A work around that I did is to edit the launcher. I use
env http_proxy=http://proxyhost:port/ totem %U
in exec part of totem.desktop

I can still see the original problem. Totem's YouTube plugin can get
through the proxy when searching, but if I try to watch a video from the
list displayed it tries to connect to the internet directly regardless
of my proxy settings.
I can see this in netstat:
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address
closing the report then.
