I filed a bug upstream and attached a patch that should fix the issue.
The patch (also attached here) should also work for the current Ubuntu
version.

The handling of the Other... location seems to be kind of broken: If I enter
/tmp (like the OP), the archive is created in the current folder. If I go to
file system and double click on tmp (i.e. change into the directory), the
