Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.04, gtk 2.12.9-3ubuntu3
"Save as" hangs for about 15-20 seconds in *every* application using the file selection dialog, because the dialog takes this long to come up. This happens on a machine in a network with approx. 7000 (yes, seven thousand) users in NIS, with automounted home directories. It does *not* happen on a solitary desktop. Right before the hang, the application connects to a Unix domain socket: connect(12, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path=@/tmp/dbus-ttLuvUgNav}, 23) = 0 writes something to it, then hangs 15-20 seconds polling that socket. My uneducated guess is that something on the other side of this socket doesn't really scale to the enterprise level, which seems most unfortunate in an LTS release... ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "Save as" hangs (file selection dialog needs long time to come up) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231012 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
