I have the same problem.
Steps to reproduce.
1. Chose Scientific from the View menu.
2. Set Dec.
3. enter 256
4. Acc, set to 0 (Zero)
4. Set Hex
5. The result is '10' ??

thanks for your report, not here, the result is displayed as 100 which
is ok, may you see if expanding the calculator size you get the right
result? could be a side effect of bug 202210, thanks.
