those options are disabled by default the ones at the gnome-volume-
manager since nautilus now handle those, but yes it would be nice to at
least hide them or provide more info, feel free to fill a bug about it
in gnome-volume-manager, closing this report, thanks you.

Yes, that prevents F-Spot from starting --- ta; that fixes my immediate
problem.
However, System-Preferences-Removable Media should still work ---
*because* that option was there, it never occurred to me to look at the
Nautilus preferences for the same option; looking for this stuff inside
Can you please try opening Nautilus, then going to Edit - Preferences,
selecting the Media tab and changing the 'Photos' action.
