In any case it matters, I no longer have the extra-long dialog in up-to-
date Hardy, as seen in the attachment.

I have a similar issue that's most probably a duplicate. I'm using gimp
2.2.13-1ubuntu4 on Feisty. However, in this case, the large screen is
the convert to png dialog. While all the options fit in a relatively
small window (using a 1280*800 resolution), the png compression bar is
