Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xchat-gnome
Following a clean install via Ubiquity of Ubuntu Desktop amd64 (20080917.1), I installed gnome xchat. The install worked as expected. I attempted to run the app, and the taskbar showed the app trying to start but appeared to then hang, and after sometime was no longer visible. Doing a ps -e | grep xchat showed that the process was still running even though it was now inivisible under gnome. Ive tried many combinations of uninstalls, reinstalsl, purge then reinstall including the .xchat2 home directory. Other applications are working as expected. When I run the app from terminal to see what it might reveal I see: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xchat-gnome *** glibc detected *** xchat-gnome: double free or corruption (out): 0x0000000001b43f60 *** The version I'm on is synched to the repos as shown: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-cache policy xchat-gnome xchat-gnome: Installed: 1:0.23.92-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:0.23.92-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:0.23.92-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gnome Xchat Wont Display https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271734 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to xchat-gnome in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
