Public bug reported:

"~$ locate places.sqlite
/home/detlef/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/places.sqlite
/home/detlef/.mozilla/firefox/fya46e9y.default/places.sqlite"

~$ ls -l /home/detlef/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/places.sqlite
-rw-r--r-- 1 detlef detlef 147456 2008-07-19 10:40 /home/detlef/.gnome2\
/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/places.sqlite

~$ ls -l /home/detlef/.mozilla/firefox/fya46e9y.default/places.sqlite
-rw-r--r-- 1 detlef detlef 1212416 2008-09-26 20:01 /home/detlef/.mozilla\
/firefox/fya46e9y.default/places.sqlite

'Search for files' as well as gnome-search-tool' do not find these 2
files if the search starts from / but they do find these 2 files if the
search starts from the /home/detlef/.gnome or /home/detlef/.mozilla
directory. This is true independent of specifying the option "Show
hidden and backup files" or "--hidden".
