Hello,
I don't think it's a good idea to replace this text field by one, because it
removes the possibility to print several ranges at once, separated by commas.
Example:
1-3,87-88 will print pages 1,2,3 and 87,88
That's a feature I actually use a _lot_.
What we need here is a descriptive
I agree with Ronan, the range field should not be replaced with two
fields.
About the description: you get an example of how to fill the field if
you hover the Range text. It would be nice if the description also
showed when hovering the field.

I would suggest to show the printed range when the other radio buttons
are selected in the greyed out box. This allows the user to see at a
glance how to fill out this field.
It has the added conveniece of showing the number of pages. Maybe it is
helpful to keep this as default input when the
