Just want to note that the following will allow you to mount MTP
devices:
This is just a work around. I changed /usr/share/gvfs/remote-volume-
monitors/ gphoto2.monitor to allow the device to be mounted.

Sebastien,
I am currently experiencing this issue on my jaunty system. When I plug
in the MTP device, it automounts the mp3 player and adds 2 entries to
the disk mounter applet as well. Not sure where it adds 2 instead of
one, as only one shows up in the nautilus sidebar.
Once it is automounted
Sorry for the lag, Sebastien, I've seen your info request just now.
Fortunately, I can say that in jaunty gvfs+mtp (at least for my own
player) this issue was fixed :)

I was trying to access SGH-U700 samsung phone, but gnome fails to mount
it (gphoto2 returns an error unsupported device), while I was able to
manually copy files using mtp-tools
Error NotSupported: LibGPhoto2.GPhotoException: Неподдерживаемое действие
at LibGPhoto2.CameraFilesystem.GetFile
does anybody still get the issue on current jaunty and could describe
exactly how to trigger the bug?

Pleasse also see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/330383 --- treating
devices as MTP just because they can is in itself a bug. MTP completely
breaks devices, and shouldn't be turned on except as a last option.

thank you for your bug report, that's an upstream issue and should be
sent to bugzilla.gnome.org by somebody who has the configuration to
trigger the bug and can reply to their comments
