Public bug reported: There is insufficient warning of a critically low battery.
On my T61 ThinkPad, you get a few little pop-up yellow boxes near the battery indicator saying things like 10%, and 5%, but then after a few more minutes, the machine just switches off. On Windows, you get a battery critical warning sound - like a siren, which makes you realise you need power quickly and grab a cable. I have had several times where Ubuntu has simply run out of batteries and I wasn't really very conscious that it was getting that low. Either a critical warning sound, or a more in-your-face notification, like in the middle of the screen, not the top right, would be more helpful ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- critically low battery is not sufficiently well notified https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292055 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
