I have the same issue with any URL containing a %2F (hex for the slash
character), and with left-clicking on them in e.g. evolution. I get the same
error containing Key/directory may not end with a slash. This URL, for
example, does not work:
http://example.com/test%2Fhello

I can reproduce this by copying above URL into gnome-terminal
gnome-terminal:
