Public bug reported: If you attach the same camera a second time and select duplicate detection, it will still import every picture it has already imported before, they are just hidden from view. (This is a variant of the third part of Bug #250899 and is serious enough to merit its own bug, especially since the program cheats the user into believing that detect duplicates does in fact work).
You should really get rid of f-spot in the main distribution until it has at least alpha quality. $ ls -ltcrn insgesamt 16592 -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 3587736 2008-11-05 12:25 dsc00002.jpg -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 2470304 2008-11-05 12:25 dsc00004.jpg -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 2418700 2008-11-05 12:25 dsc00003.jpg -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 3587736 2008-12-31 15:52 dsc00002-1.jpg -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 2470304 2008-12-31 15:52 dsc00004-1.jpg -rw-r--r-- 1 1000 1000 2418700 2008-12-31 15:52 dsc00003-1.jpg $ sha1sum * ff048fcfb68bd914ad66e93d9e68d404cf218dd9 dsc00002-1.jpg ff048fcfb68bd914ad66e93d9e68d404cf218dd9 dsc00002.jpg dee2a8242d1b95ae37e10612f1dc2c37b84146bc dsc00003-1.jpg dee2a8242d1b95ae37e10612f1dc2c37b84146bc dsc00003.jpg baee6a95073dc6ca23a71d1bccdad15197cc37b1 dsc00004-1.jpg baee6a95073dc6ca23a71d1bccdad15197cc37b1 dsc00004.jpg $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 $ LANG=C apt-cache policy f-spot f-spot: Installed: 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- f-spot duplicate detection doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
