I reopened this bug since it is not fixed. At least not in Karmic. WMA
files seem to work. OGG and MP3 files will play but Totem won't show GUI
elements.

I also can replicate this bug. Totem plugin does not play mpg movies
embedded as well.

I have all relevant gstreamer plugins installed, but the totem plugin
only register itself for these mime types:
application/x-mplayer2
video/x-ms-asf-plugin
video/x-msvideo
video/x-ms-asf
video/x-ms-wmv
video/x-wmv
video/x-ms-wvx
video/x-ms-wm
video/x-ms-wmp
application/x-ms-wms
I think there may be some confusion here:
This is a valid bug. I can reproduce it, having just upgraded to jaunty a few
days ago. I can't fix it, the totem plugin for firefox just doesn't want to
play some file types, whereas totem proper does it no problem at all.
