Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs
I have been using jaunty for a while now on my laptop and decided to install it on my desktop as well. All ubuntu partitions are ext4. I have been noticing after the desktop has been running for some amount of time some programs or windows involving accessing drives through gvfs begin to hang for ~30s before opening. This is most evident when opening gnome-system-monitor via command line. The following is produced: (gnome-system-monitor:14548): GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: invoking IsSupported() failed for remote volume monitor with dbus name org.gtk.Private.GPhoto2VolumeMonitor: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. Also in gnome-system-monitor clicking on the file systems tabs will cause it to hang indefinitely. All is fixed upon a restart for a while. Maybe something in gvfs is crashing over time? I will be glad to provide more information as required. ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- remote volume monitor causing system to hang https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326744 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
