Your mono-addins DB may have been corrupted by a bug in libmono-
addins0.2-cil 0.4-2
I believe deleting ~/.gnome2/f-spot/addin* should force regeneration of
the DB, and fix the persistent issue

It seems fixed after the following steps:
* Move ~/.gnome2/f-spot somewhere else
* Start F-Spot
* Quit F-spot

I reckon the Importance here is high? as this renders the application close to
useless ;)
You cant open photos in other apps and can not export to anywhere ...
But feel free to disagree...
