Thanks Pete, but the trace is missing a few symbols, may you please
install the following packages and get a new one? packages to install:
libedata-cal1.2-6-dbgsym, liborbit2-dbgsym, libglib2.0-0-dbgsym may you
also execute : thread apply all bt full in gdb after eds crashes? thanks

OK, further debugging is attached. One more observation: The
appointment _is_ actually created, but it seems the UI never comes back.
Evolution is still running and gdb tells me that e-d-s is still running.
Anyway, let me know if I can give you anything further.
