In the directory where Nautilus jammed was a subdirectory having dots in
it's name. I removed the dots and Nautilus worked ok.

Hi!
In the toublesome directory was subdirectory name having a couple of
dots. After I had removed the dots (using Dolphin) Nautilus began to
work ok also.
The direcory is a large picture collection so I did not like to move
them elsewhere, but that seems not to be necessary anymore.

could you use the command line to move files to an another directory and
see if that's still an issue? could be to some thumbnailing for a file
there
