Save the file and close.
Now open with another editor, me i test with Bluefish, Geany and i have
with the both :
why should gedit display an empty line if there is none in the source?

gedit adds a new line char at the end of the line that's a design
decision (some command line tools would not print the line without that
for example) and those editor decide to display the next line then, not
a bug
