thank you for your response. finally i have found the solutions from
add/remove programms. actually the "download from" - main server option was
disabled by default.after enabling it i could able to instal suitable
package managers to run the softwares correctly.

Also have you installed ubuntu-restricted-extras? You need that to play
proprietary files such as wmv and mp3 and such..
