It looks like this has been fixed. When I typed apt-get update and
then apt-get upgrade it updated my gedit. Although it still says its
version gedit 2.24.2 in Help About

Of coarse, Although this is happening to all my .txt/.php/.tcl, etc
files that I've edited via Gedit. Here is one of my files.
Also, I'm pretty sure its when you copy and paste from the text editor
its self using right click. But I'm not sure.
