the issue is non obvious on the screenshot nor on real installs, the
icon used is gnome-sound-properties which is a scalable one

Hi Jones D. Le, thanks for using Ubuntu and thanks for taking the time
to file this bug report! I can't seem to duplicate this on my Jaunty
install; could you please attach a screen shot showing the blurry icon?

Please check the attachment. You would see that 'gnome-volume-control-
settings' has correct (no blur) icon whilst the 'gnome-sound-properties'
is very blurry.
