I have try it out with my backported version of gnome-pilot 2.0.14. The
result is the same, even with PILOT_CHARSET set to CP1252. I assume,
there is no conversion in the memo code itself, as it is on the
Categories on Evolution (but only there, the body is correct, Launchpad
Bug 64575).

Thank you. I use dapper. Perhaps I will try to backport gnome-pilot and
gnome-pilot-conduits or try it in a Virtual Machine.
