Actually, I managed to fix it by deleting (not just unchecking in the plugin list) many plugins I wasn't using (I had downloaded the plugins package for gedit). Sorry, I didn't record which plugins I had activated, although I only fixed the problem, as I've said above, by deleting the plugins.
