Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
Steps to reproduce (in Jaunty): open a nautilus window gconftool --dump /apps/nautilus > /tmp/nautilus.dump gconftool --load /tmp/nautilus.dump Result: Window closes, Icons of mounted drivers disappear. Entry in syslog states "nautilus: segfault at ... error 4 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.2000.1" This is new with jaunty, it did not happen with hardy (did not try intrepid). This may be a rather special problem, but I need it for our live CD project, which allows users to store and retrieve personal settings from/to removable media. Closing nautilus with "nautilus -q" before loading the dump and starting it afterwards with "nautilus -n" helps avoid the segfault, of course. Unfortunately, the newly spawned nautilus keeps open the mountpoint of the removable drive forever, so that it cannot be unmounted anymore. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nautilus segfaults when loading gconf dump https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369708 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
