BTW, I changed the printer driver to the HP 5600 - no improvement in the

The printing bug that I describe above is most likely a duplicate of bug
#361772.
The only odd behavior that may be related to yelp occurs when I shutdown
my system. I get a "program is not responding" when I shutdown.
