Yes ,it is reproducible with Karmic . I attached a video of the bug :
It starts on the desktop ,then Ctrl + Alt + L is pressed to lock the
screen. After that the screensaver is displayed . By clicking it away,
the formular arrives ...

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 with gnome-screensaver 2.24.0-0ubuntu6, I'm attaching the
output from /var/log/auth.

I can't recreate your problem though. Does this happen with multiple
users? How are you logging in normally?

On the system there are 2 users ,but only one has yet been logged in ,
when I found the bug .Normally I use the login-screen after the
computer booted
