[Bug 38915] Re: Logout proces hangs

I also have this problem (on kdm), ctrl + alt+ backspace doesn't work. I'm also using the fglrx driver so it might be a driver bug. This bug also reports problems with the nvidia drivers: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15/+bug/46874 -- Logout proces

This is exactly the same problem that I have with kdm. Sometimes it works just fine to logout but sometimes the screen just turns black and CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE doesn't work. -- Logout proces hangs https://launchpad.net/bugs/38915 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com

Does it happen if you edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use ati instead of fglrx? -- Logout proces hangs https://launchpad.net/bugs/38915 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

No, it's not useful after a restart. Do you mean that ctrl-alt-F1 doesn't work by example? Might be a linux or video driver issue, do you have an issue logged to /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog? -- Logout proces hangs https://launchpad.net/bugs/38915 -- desktop-bugs mailing list
