I am in Edgy Eft final and sound-recorder is still auto-muting after
first record. Yes it is completely worthless.

Sound recorder disables the capture device after a second
I switched to Edgy, besides my sound-recorder is broken for long time (I
have no time to try to fix it - Linux sound system is magic for me), so
unfortunately I can not verify it.

Dapper-updates has been returning a zip error message since you asked
for this, but it seems fixed for me anyway. I'm using gnome-media
2.14.2-0ubuntu1. Thanks for your help :).

Sound recorder disables the capture
The bug is supposed to be fixed with gnome-media 2.14.2 which is
available from dapper-updates, could anybody confirm that the fix works
fine? It seems to work fine with gnome-media 2.14.2 on my edgy desktop

Yesterday I downloaded Dapper final release. I got exactly the same
problem - after each recoreding capture is disabled automatically and
I must reenable it manually. Horrible. Is there some fix for this?

Is this the same bug? If not I'll file is seperately:
If I select 'capture' in the drop down menu, as soon as I click record it
resets 'input from' to microphone - which does nothing on my system. This bug
is currently present in all 'Record as:' options except 'Voice Lossless (WAV
audio)'

Confirmed. The workaround is of course easy but clumsy (re-enable recording
again and again), but it takes a while before you even realize what's going on,
if you figure it out at all.
This bug renders the soundrecorder quite useless, at least for human beings, so
I'm bumping the severity a
I thought that the package was sound-recorder (given that is the name in
the about box) but that seems to be a different product that I don't
have installed. It seems that sound-recorder is actually gnome-
media.
