Still need a test case.

Reassigning to gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. Maybe you could rebuild a debug
version of that package to get a debug backtrace? Upstream is not likely
to fix it without an example nor a debug backtrace...

Thanks for your bug. The issue seems to be due to gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg.
Maybe you could run rhythmbox -d to notice on what file it is shocking
and attach it somewhere or provide an IRC to download it?

crash
It crashes when importing .3gp files, that are quicktime files which are
created when recording a video with some mobilephones.
Sadly I can't attach a file because it is very personal.

Sorry, I didn't read the Wikipedia article correctly, they are no
quicktime files.

Could you install rhythmbox-dbg in order to provide a trace with debugging
symbols ?
Also can you run rhythmbox -d and see if this is always the same song that
crashes ?

1: Is there a difference between rhythmbox-dbg and building rhythmbox as
described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash (which we did)?

No, indeed.
So thank you for taking time to do this :-)
But it seems that you reported your trace with the normal RB, not the one you
compiled. See the (no debugging symbols found) everywhere ?
Perhaps only the rhythmbox -d will be useful anyway.
