What problem still exists? ;-) There were three of them, and I got no
answer to confirm. So I'm closing it, please open a new report with
detailed explanations.
David: feel free to reopen when you can answer my question.

jxparo: are you sure you are in Manual mode? I've reinstalled the gnome-
system-tools and I can still see this button in this mode. And I don't
see the patch that used to hide it in Ubuntu.

You received this bug
In both Jaunty and Karmic the SystemAdministrationTime Date has no
Synchronize Now button. I am confirming this on several installations
from the final i386 live install CDs. This appears to be a bug since the
documentation mentions a button and shows a screenshot of a button that
is not present.
AFAICS the the synchronize button is here in Karmic. Is your LiveCD one
of the final release? Other than that, are there problems left?

Where exactly should it be (the button)?
It is the final release, yes.

It's a little button with a refresh icon, at the end of the line where
you can set hours/minutes/seconds. But I guess you're missing the fact
that it's only shown when in manual time setting mode (since it won't be
of any use if ntpd is already synchronizing time on the background).

Time is updated from NTP, as discussed.
Who will create the bug about the synchronize button?

Good for a start. Could you manually set the time to something obviously
wrong, and then enable automatic NTP synchronization, so that you can
check if it works or not. If that's fixed too, we can close this report
and open another one about the synchronize button.

time-admin does not update
I have just installed a new machine with 9.10 and even though I had
selected the correct time zone (europe-paris) the clock was two hours in
advance.
Using date and time from the administration menu (time-admin
application - note that I use approximate translations here, my system
is in french),
By the way the fact that a discrepancy such as the one I reported above
can happen upon install could justify a bug report too, but I have no
idea where I can report it.

You received this bug notification because you are a
testing with 9.10 desktop i386 CD (live boot):
- ntpd is running
- TZ selection works
- time update : not sure, the time is correct...
- there is no Synchronize now button, even if the help mentions it
This is still the same.

Philippe: could you open a new report and copy/paste your description
above into it? This bug is already complex to handle because of the many
problems it raises, and your problem deserves a special treatment ASAP.
About the original report, I should add:
- does not update time, even if Keep
At least,
- keeps displaying the time zone as Europe/Sarajevo even if it is set to
Europe/Ljubljana (/etc/timezone has : Europe/Ljubljana)
should be fixed in Karmic now. Please report if it's the case.
Other issues will need more investigation that I'll try to do later. But
generally,
** Package changed: ubuntu = gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu)
