This problem can be duplicated by: 1. go to system-preferences- Preferred Applications 2. in the web browser dropdown, choose Custom 3. type in a command such as /usr/bin/firefox-3.5 %s (or whatever you choose) 4. click 'close' 5. open a link in another application (such as thunderbird or pidgin)
