I've just uploaded a version of gnome-session to my PPA which should fix this crash. What should happen now is that you should see the inhibit dialog telling you that an application is not responding. Please test it and let me know what happens, and then I will send the patch upstream. My PPA is

I use synergy daily for work and start it with gnome session automatically. I'm gonna try and disable synergy to test further. Is there a possability to invoke a kill command somewhere when shutdown or reboot commands are issued so synergy would not "lock" and crash. -- gnome-session crashed wit
