As an update, I can't reproduce it anymore either, however I do
sometimes notice a very slight update lag if I do it quickly enough -
that is, the file that I rename from picture-1 to picture-2 briefly
displays picture-1 again before refreshing to picture-2

I can not reproduce this here either (Ubuntu 9.10). Nautilus may (very
rarely) lag a little, but it can not be reproduced consistently. It may
be caused by the fact that you used a development version when you
