When switching back from dual display to simple display I expect gnome-panel to 
stay on top of my laptop's display. I use nvidia-settings and twinview to do 
that.

gnome-panel disappears

5) Additional info:
 - when I switch back to dual display, gnome-panel comes back
 - I use NVIDIA-Linux-x86-180.44-pkg1.run to install nvidia drivers
 - ~$ uname -r -> 2.6.28-15-generic
