Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I suspected that rhythmbox was incorrectly updating the play count when
playing songs from a connect ipod. I created a small iTunes library with
just 12 songs with no play counts. I played 1 song 1 time and iTunes
updated the play count to 1. Then I updated an ipod to match that
library and attached that ipod to a ubuntu system running rhythmbox
11.6. RB showed the ipod with the correct play count on the track in
question as 1. I played that track with RB. RB displayed the correct
play count of 2. When I connected the ipod back to the system with
iTunes the play count was updated to 3. I repeated the entire process
and the end result was a play count of 7. It appears to me that somehow
instead of replacing the previous count with the new correct number
somehow the new correct number is being ADDED to the previous count.

Unfortunately for me I only suspected this was occurring after my *real*
iTunes library started to show play counts in the 50,000 range :(

My ubuntu system is 8.10 and the RB version is 11.6.
