Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
In Karmic alpha5, package gnome-screensaver 2.27.0-0ubuntu5, the "put
display to sleep" option under Power Management does not perform as
expected. I set the screensaver to activate after 1 minute of idle, and
the Power Management option to put the display to sleep after 5 minutes.
The screensaver activated as expected after 1 minute. Four minutes
later, the screen turned off briefly, but then turned back on.
Thenceforth, the screensaver remains active and the screen flashes off
briefly once every five minutes or so.
