Also, it is not true that the idea has always been rejected. It was
arbitrarily rejected, for no good reason, once in 2005, by the project's
maintainer.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is discussed upstream for more than
three years now (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115763 might
be one hint to the discussions), the idea has always been rejected. I
don't think we're going to divert from upstream in this regard. Sorry.
