Public bug reported: I don't known exactly what packages cause this, sorry. Distribution: ubuntu dapper with lastest packages.
Gnome refuse to start. GDM works ok and permit login in but gnome doesn't show the splash screen even... Gnome start with failsafe from Gdm, but if I try for example epiphany browser it's says that can't connect to the dbus session. Firefox doesn't start either but with no error message. The only "solution" it's to comment in /etc/X11/Xsession.options the line: use-ssh-agent. With that dbus works and Gnome start but epiphany says another error and firefox doesn't work either.... Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'gnome- session2'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu. ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed -- Gnome doesn't start https://launchpad.net/bugs/44984 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
