It should play codecs from mp3 to wma and vice versa seamlessly.
Rhythmbox hangs when playing songs of the same artist when they are
encoded with different codecs. For example: Playing by artist Big &
Rich, Rhythmbox will begin playing through one album that is encoded
with mp3 and when it gets to the next album of Big & Rich which is
encoded with wma, it will hang and become unresponsive. Restarting the
application does not help. Rebooting the OS corrects the issue.
