Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

Just upgraded from 9.10 to 9.04 after having problems with sound in
9.04.

Specifically I had a microphone that was working, but when coupled with
a new camera with on board mic it stopped.

Now I have no sound whatsoever. This is my first ever bug report, please
advise if I need to do anything.

It seems that Ubuntu is not picking up my sound card, when it was
before, I've tried several of the fixes, but nothing seems to work.
