The same for Maverick (netbook edition at least). I think this is the default behavior before gnome-power-manager kicks in with your settings (where you can set it to just Blank the screen when you are on AC). -- closing the lid suspends even when AC is plugged in

Pedro, I can, but it will have to wait for a reboot since the CurrentDmesg portion contains data pertinent to the corporate network that I cannot allow to be made public. This of course goes back to my long-standing bug about allowing a user to edit the apport collected data before it's sent to
