that might be the same issue than bug #52941 which is fixed now to edgy,

In my home directory two folders are missing the first time (Desktop and
Bilder) the second time I open it they are back.

I'm using edgy on amd64. Nautilus 2.15.4 (spatial). When opening my home
folder from the desktop (using nautilus all the time) the first time it
doesn't show everything, when closing and opening it again it shows
everything. Can't notice a pattern.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Do you have
notice some pattern between the cases where it happens? What sort of
files or directories are not listed? Do you use the browser or spatial
mode? How do you open the directory, from another one? From a command
line? From the path
