Thank you for your bug. UID used for users start on 1000 on Debian or Ubuntu, that's a correct default value then. If you have some special need you can adjuste the gdm config according to that. Marking rejected, that's not a bug, the configuration makes sense for Ubuntu ** Changed in: gdm

From /etc/gdm.conf: # User ID's less than the MinimalUID value will not be included in the face # browser or in the gdmselection list for Automatic/Timed login. They will not # be displayed regardless of the settings for Include and Exclude. MinimalUID=1000 Set this value as you need it. --
