Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox
Just started live cd of ubuntu 10.04 and in rhythmbox it reapeatedly says that I do not have mp3plugins and to click to install. This is ok, I just started live cd. The problem is that when clicking it says it can't find codecs! Now I know what the problem here is and how to solve it: Of course that by default we do not have all repositories activated, so after a trip to System->Administration->Software sources, tick the universe, ultiverse clicking on tha install mp3 in rhythmbox works as intended. Now not everyone knows that the ubuntu one mp3 button problem comes from this. The button should check if universe/multiverse is enabled, if not enable it or ask the user ("To install mp3 support, multiverse software source needs to be enabled. Eable? Yes/No") ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Mar 26 09:52:12 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/rhythmbox LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Beta amd64 (20100318) Package: rhythmbox 0.12.7-0ubuntu5 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-16.25-generic SourcePackage: rhythmbox Uname: Linux 2.6.32-16-generic x86_64 XsessionErrors: (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:2892): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed (rhythmbox:3381): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_cursor: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (rhythmbox:3381): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_cursor_ref: assertion `cursor != NULL' failed (rhythmbox:3381): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_cursor: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (rhythmbox:3381): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_cursor_ref: assertion `cursor != NULL' failed ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- Ubuntu one fails to install mp3 codec https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
