Looks that this bug (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614634
EOG prevents the Desktop thumbnails to be updated ) is specific to the
Ubuntu's version of EOG, so must be solved by Ubuntu's team (people who
added the "Edit image" button in EOG), not by upstream EOG team... am I
right ?

Ok, I filled bugs:
- https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614637 (Bad interaction between
EOG and its Fspot editor)
- https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614634( EOG prevents the Desktop
thumbnails to be updated )
- https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614635 (EOG is not update
Thank you for your answer, I will fill a bug in Gnome bug tracker, and
give the links here. If you don't mind, and as i don't know exactly
which software is concerned, I will first put some more feedback here:

- Open an image (located either on Desktop or in another fold
This bug is an upstream one and it would be quite helpful if somebody
experiencing it could send the bug the to the people writing the
software. You can learn more about how to do this for various upstreams
at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME . Thanks in advance!
