I can confirm this bug. In Ubuntu 9.10 add group using GNOME's users- admin (Users and Groups). When a group is added though Users and Groups, it is not actually added. deleted when exiting Steps to reproduce: 1) Open users-admin (System Administration Users Groups) 2) Unlock the application
