Hi! To better help you with the problem, please answer the following questions
aside from what's asked above:
1. How did you set the screensaver and what are the settings?
2. Do you have a specific screensaver to be activated?
I have my machine set to have blank screen after an hour of idleness.
I do not know if it occured on other computers (if that is what you mean
by reproducible), but it happens every time I let the computer idle and
the screensver goes on. I can also freeze the computer by locking the
screen, or by suspending activity.
I had set the screensaver in Karmic before the

The computer froze. I had to reboot, and then I tried again, just in
